At the new entrance to the Botanical Gardens, just through the amphitheater, is an enormous tree casting deep, cool shade on a lovely green, soft, sloping lawn. In contrast to the dry, scruffy, grubby area we usually frequent it looks like a little Eden.
I propose we move our picnic venue to this site. It is close to toilets (which are located in the grand new entrance), is further from the area where the bands perform and from the Shakespeare garden. I also suggest changing the picnic day from the first Saturday of the month (When all the concerts seem to happen) to the last Saturday. Perhaps it will be a little quieter. Finding parking will be no worse than at the dam - and may even be easier - and hopefully the passing crowds will not be too intrusive.
What say ye? Cast your vote.
