Two weeks ago the church got together for a church social.  We closed Sabbath together with songs and smiles and then went through to the hall to surprise Lyndle and Gilda.  They were led blindfolded in and seated on chairs in the middle of the hall and greeted with a boisterous ‘Surprise’ as they took their blindfolds off.  Lyndle was then dressed up like a beautiful bride with a stunning white lacy table cloth for a veil and make up and then given presents of which she had to guess the identity or suffer a forfeit of messing up her beautiful make up in a bowl of flour to retrieve a smarty.  After a short snack time the games began.  The children were up first with a game of duck, duck goose and then names were picked and our first actors took to the stage.  My favourite game was the alphabet game in which each person had to say a sentence starting with the next letter of the alphabet relating a common topic.  As the games continued people became more confident and when the prepared games were over, John led the remaining people in more games.  The evening was full of fun and laughs and was a good opportunity for us to practice our acting skills and get to know people.
